Belt & Road Initiative created a lot of opportunities for our youngsters. We arranged a workshop on Belt & Road Initiative to all S3 students on 6 April 2017. During the workshop, they discovered a lot of interesting facts related to the cultures of the countries particpating in Bell & Road Initiative. It is hoped that they can learn how to appreciate the cultures of other countries.
Eight S5 students participated in Hong Kong Model United Nations between 19th and 21st March 2017. During the conference, students acted as representatives of different countries and discussed global issues.
17 professors and teachers visited our school on 9 March 2017. In order to understand more how secondary schools in Hong Kong work, they did not only visit our school, but also had good chats with our students. Our students enjoyed talking with them and knew more about the culture and education in Japan.
On 18th February 2017, our students participated in UNESCO Peacemake Cultural Celebration to promote cultural integration to the public. They set boards and game booths about Egypt at Science Park. A lot of visitors, including Mr. Ng Hak Kim, visited our booth to understand more about the culture of Egypt.
25 teachers from Kazakhstan visited our school on 20 December 2016. The focus of their visit is science education. Through discussion and lesson observation, their teachers have understood more on how we conduct science lessons using English as a medium of instruction. They also toured around the campus to understand how science education can be carried out outside classroom.
Mr. Wong Man Kong, a successful entrepreneur, visited our school on 20 December 2016 to shared his experience with our teachers and students on the development of silk road in the past 20 years. He shared with us the importance of ‘belt and road initiative’ and how the initiative can create new opportunities to the next generations.
Mr. Sugiyama Mitsumaru and Ms. Kohno Yasue, whose grandparents subsidized the activities of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen in 1900s, visited our school on 10 December. Our students shared with them how Hong Kong students understood the Dr. Sun’s contribution to China. Ms. Kohno Yasue gave a talk on the precious friendship between Japan and China. Moreover, she elaboartoed on her organization’s understandin of Dr. Sun’s history. It was a good chance for the students to learn the history of Sun Yat-Sen from a global perspective.
