Green Gurus of our school launched the “Amazon on fire” Signature Campaign on 27 Sept 2019 (Fri) on campus. Some scholars have pointed out that the Amazon rain forest, known as the “Lungs of the Earth”, handles 5% to 20% of the world’s photosynthesis every year. It plays an important role in restraining climate change as it can absorb and store large amounts of carbon. However, people burned down forests uncontrollably to vacate forest land for short-term economic benefit. Through this campaign, Green Gurus hope to raise the awareness of the CFSS students towards conservation and sustainability.
