Learning Activity in Ocean Park

To enrich students’ learning experience and to build up the harmonious relationships among students and teachers, S1 to S4 students went to Ocean Park on 22nd July 2021. S1 and S2 students participated in animal programme, S3 students participated in STREAM programme, and S4 students participated in career programme. Through the programmes, students understand how Ocean Park works in preserving the environment, promoting the STREAM, and career prospects. Although it was very hot that day, the event bought beautiful memory to the students and teachers.

CFSS Grabbing Fruitful Results in The 1st CAFEA Young Talent Smart City Forum

With the prime aim to enrich students’ knowledge on artificial intelligence, Blockchain, Big Data, Smart Campus and Internet of Things, our school has been actively cooperating with different organizations for exchange and collaboration. Nanopore DNA Sequencing Workshop

Nanopore sequencing is a technology using flow cells which contain an array of tiny holes — nanopores — embedded in an electro-resistant membrane to determine the order of nucleotides in DNA. Each nanopore corresponds to its own electrode connected to a channel and sensor chip, which measures the electric current that flows through the nanopore. The Information and Communication Technology Department of our school actively seeks and provides opportunities for students to enhance their problem-solving skills and programming capabilities. Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) Programme

The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Amgen Foundation collaborate to introduce “Amgen Biotechnology Experience (ABE) Programme” into Hong Kong schools, so that teachers can bring biotechnology experiments to real practice in the lessons. Ocean Park Conservation Alliance: Butterfly Citizen Scientist

This project is organized by the Ocean Park Conservation Alliance. It is the first citizen scientist project investigating butterflies by secondary students in Hong Kong. The project aims at arousing public awareness of butterfly biodiversity in Hong Kong by using simple and interesting ecological survey methods, so as to forster students’ interest in exploring the nature and their science citizenship; and to enhance students’ sense of belonging to the community through this project. Conservation Chill Club Carnival Opening Ceremony

Two students from our Green Guru Team participated in the Ixora chinensis Planting Activity and the Conservation Chill Club Opening Ceremony held by Ocean Park on 1st April. One of the I. chinensis in our Butterfly Friendly Garden which had been taken care of by the Green Guru Team for half a year was transplanted into Ocean Park to build the Ocean Park’s butterfly garden together. ART JAMMING at Ocean Park Hong Kong

To nurture students’ interest in biodiversity and arts, the Green Guru Team led 15 students to join “ART JAMMING at Ocean Park Hong Kong” on 27 February 2021. Our students have the chance to use their artistry and animal knowledge to participate in an art jamming session in the Butterfly Friendly Garden in Ocean Park. This event also offered a meaningful opportunity in promoting conservation to the public, raising awareness about three special local species through showing their creativity in the exhibits.
