CFSS Making Unflagging Effort to Upgrade CFSS as Smart Campus and A.I. Learning Centre

Our Students Participated in the Colorimetry Workshop in HKBU

10 S.4 students participated a colorimetry workshop organized by HKBU in late June. By applying the principles of colorimetry, students can monitor the level of nitrogen dioxide in the air. After setting up a few passive air samplers in the laboratory and roadside, students went back and listened to the professors about the principles behind of the workshops. At last, students can find the level of the air pollutants by using the mobile application “ChemEye” to detect the colour intensity.

Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) Programme

The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Amgen Foundation collaborate to introduce “Amgen Biotechnology Experience (ABE) Programme” to Hong Kong schools, so that teachers can bring biotechnology experiments to real practice in the lessons. This enables students to unveil the details of daily applications of biotechnology nowadays. It has been the third year of our school to join the ABE Programme. A Seed Planting Ceremony named “Education for Sustainable Development and Biodiversity: Space-Exposed Seed Nursery Programme” was launched by UNESCO(HK) in Ta Ku Ling Ling Ying Public School on 9 March 2019 (Sat). An interdisciplinary field trip to Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) was organized on 16 February 2019 in collaboration with Biology, Visual Art, Geology and Information & Communication Technology Department. To nurture students’ interest on biodiversity and arts, the Green Guru Team organized a visit to Botanical Art Exhibition of Prof. Zeng Xiao Lian.  Professor Zeng Xiao Lian is a professor grade illustrator in Kunming Institute of Botany, The Chinese Academy of Sciences, a member of China Artists Association, and was the chairperson of the Botanical Scientific Illustration Society of China, Botanical Society of China. A group of CFSS teachers and students visited the “2018 InnoTech Expo” in late September. Under the theme “Driving Innovation, from the Past to the Future”, three thematic exhibitions (Engineering, Agriculture and Healthcare) showcased the ancient Chinese inventions as well as the cutting-edge technology in the respective fields. Beijing-HK Youth Science and Innovation Elite Exchange Programme 2018

Beijing-HK Youth Science and Innovation Elite Exchange Programme 2018 was successfully launched in The Chinese Foundation Secondary School from 14 to 18 July 2018. 70 elite students from Beijing and Hong Kong went through the 5 days of learning and visits. 11 CFSS students participated in this Programme, which was organized by Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges and Hong Kong Beijing Association Limited.
