Biology field trip to Mai Po

To consolidate student’s subject knowledge and equip them with more in-field exposure, S.5 and S.4 Biology students had joint the field trip at Mai Po Nature Reserve on 3rd April 2023, organized by the World Wide Fund (Hong Kong). 35 Students studying Biology had visited the vast habitats in Mai Po, including Gei Wai, mangroves, mudflats etc. In the guided tour, students were taught to use binoculars to observe and identify different bird species in birdwatching houses. Our school has been promoting Popular Science to all CFSS students through STREAM education. In School Year 2022/23, we joined a whole-year STREAM Education programme, titled “Soyvestor STEAM Project”. On 10th December 2022, 13 students took part in the online Youth Biodiversity Forum organized by The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation. Green Guru Fish Printing Workshop

To promote awareness on biodiversity and to incorporate art and culture, the Green Guru Team had held the Fish Printing (Gyotaku) Workshop on 10th October 2022. 20 students had learnt the history and cultural value of the traditional art of Gyotaku. Through the workshop, students had learnt the importance of sustainable fishery and various fishing method. Several species of fishes were provided to demonstrate the diversity of fish morphology.
