Lunar New Year Nature Appreciation Voluntary Service

Environmental Conservation Carnival 2013

The idea of sustainable development proliferated in our neighbourhood Siu Sai Wan community with the support of the Council of Sustainable Development. On 7 July 2013, after diverse performances of dancers, choirs and orchestras, ten booths were set up to transmit different ideas and concepts related to sustainable development.  Involving over 100 students and 40 teachers, the Carnival came with an enthusiastic participation of over 200 visitors and a memorable end.

CFSS was invited to participate in the LOHAS EXPO 2013 in the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre

Our school was invited to participate in the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) EXPO 2013 in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 3G from 1st to 3rd February 2013. The exhibition aimed in promoting green and healthy living style, and the theme of our booth “Green Household” (located at A13) echoes with this. 2017 Peacemaker’s Cultural Celebration – by UNESCO Hong Kong Association

To strengthen our students’ understanding and respect for different countries’ cultures, and experience the atmosphere of cultural integration, CFSS participated in 2017 Peacemaker’s Cultural Celebration which was held in Science Park by UNESCO Hong Kong on 18 Feb 2017. Our students, through introducing Egypt’s tangible cultural heritage and ancient alphabets, encourage society to appreciate and harmonize different cultures and peoples, and enhance awareness of “sustainable development”.

CFSS Students Selected as Hong Kong Representatives for the Caretakers of the Environment International (CEI) Conference 2016 in Denmark

Four CFSS students were selected to participate in an international conference in Denmark as Hong Kong representatives from late June to early July 2016. In the conference, delegates from over the world shared their own successful and innovative projects on promoting sustainable development. Our students proudly presented their project, “Ways to Promote Sustainable Mental Wellness among Hong Kong Teenagers”. Space-Exposed Seed Nursery Project

On the basis of one-year experience on space-seed nursery, Beijing Dong Cheng District Municipal Education Commission collaborates with the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development to launch “Education for Sustainable Development and Biodiversity: Space-Exposed Seed Nursery Programme”. The space-seeds have been delivered to three institutions with contrasting climates, namely Beijing, Hong Kong and Yunnan, for investigating how climatic factors affect the growth of the seedlings. Art and Science of Trees, Birds and Butterflies Exhibition at JCCAC

Our School held an exhibition at Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) from 12th to 14th April 2013. There were four themes in the exhibition. The most attractive one was Birds. Our students spent a lot of time to create art work to show different characters of birds.  Besides, we promoted green living and introduced cross-curricular Activity Day at Tsung Tsai Yuen. We hope that visitors could be more aware of the natural ecology and the importune of environmental protect through our exhibits.

Bird-Watching Activity in Nam Sang Wai

Hong Kong Biodiversity Care Ambassador and Leadership Training Programme 2016 is launched with collaboration of Grateful Green Group, Lee Woo Shing College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department to cultivate green elites in schools. Interdisciplinary Learning in Ma Shi Chau

Nature is a natural treasure of learning which allows students to broaden horizons and inspire thinking.
