Our S.2 students have searched the information about the problem associated from using single-use plastic in Hong Kong. They also researched the suggested solutions for “no plastic life”. They designed the board content and organized the manpower. In the morning of 9 December, 2021, our students set up the booth. Space Seed Sowing Ceremony by Green Gurus Team

Special Programme

The Chinese Foundation Secondary School had received space seeds from UNESCO(HK) and Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development. The space seeds included tomatoes, mimosa and cowpeas in addition to normal seeds for control investigations. Our Green Gurus Team launched the Space Seed Sowing Ceremony on 27th September, 2021 (Mon), sharing our path of participating in the Space Seed Nursery Programme in the past and how CFSS has been fostering Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development Education effectively through cultivating space plants.

Following the outstanding performance in the previous years, our School succeeds in grabbing 23 prizes in the 23rd Hong Kong Youth Science & Technology Invention Competition 2020-21. Promoting Citizen Science Education in All Our Endeavors

CFSS has been promoting Citizen Science in school and community in the recent years. Our effort has been recognized by the public. An extended abstract was submitted in The Third International European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) Conference, titled as “Levering Secondary Schools in Promoting Citizen Science on PIECE Approach: Student-Centred Learning for Whole-Person Development”, aiming at setting a framework for other schools to take reference to. In consideration of the development of the Covid-19 epidemic, the judging session and prize presentation ceremony of The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2020 were taken online in the mid of August. Eight of our students have participated in the fourth Hong Kong Specimen Drawing Competition as presented by the Hong Kong Branch of the Royal Society of Biology in December 2019. As part of the 4.5 Billion Years of Earth History Programme, the Green Guru Team has organized a Photography Contest with the theme of “Jurassic World” on 17 & 18 Dec, 2019, in order to promote plant biodiversity and species conservation on the campus. Two teams from our school participated in the ST Yau High School Science Award, YHSA(Asia), held on 30th Nov 2019 and 1st Dec 2019.
