Whole-school Approach in STREAM Education – SoyVestor STEAM Project

Our school has been promoting Popular Science to all CFSS students through STREAM education. In School Year 2022/23, we joined a whole-year STREAM Education programme, titled “Soyvestor STEAM Project”. From September to December 2022, we were honoured to have Prof. Lam Hon Ming and his team to deliver various workshops and seminars for junior form students, enriching our knowledge about soybeans. CFSS Students Sharing the School-based Approaches in Biodiversity Education and Conservation Strategies in the Youth Biodiversity Forum

On 10th December 2022, 13 students took part in the online Youth Biodiversity Forum organized by The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation. The students presented the school-based approaches in biodiversity education and conservation from three main perspectives: (1) Green Gurus on biodiversity education;(2) Popular STREAM and other Sustainable Development approaches;(3) Smart-related ICT initiatives on biodiversity conservation. Green Guru Fish Printing Workshop

To promote awareness on biodiversity and to incorporate art and culture, the Green Guru Team had held the Fish Printing (Gyotaku) Workshop on 10th October 2022. 20 students had learnt the history and cultural value of the traditional art of Gyotaku. Through the workshop, students had learnt the importance of sustainable fishery and various fishing method. Several species of fishes were provided to demonstrate the diversity of fish morphology. Decline in arable land and growing population have worsened the food shortage crisis, and as global warming aggravate, global food supply and security has become an international issue with top priority. CFSS joined Town Hall Meeting of Public Engagement on Control of Single-use Plastics organised by Council for Sustainable Development, HKSAR on 22/11

CFSS is one of the only two invited schools for the Town Hall Meeting. 7 Environmental Prefects, led by Deputy Principal Wong Siu Kwong Jacky and Teacher-in-charge of Sustainable Team Tong Man Chung Jacky, joined it.
