The 10th Anniversary Celebration of UNESCO Hong Kong Association cum UN International Human Solidarity Day

School Principal Ho Tik Shun and Sustainable Development Team Coordinator Tong Man Chung Jacky represented our school to attend the banquet of celebrating the 10th anniversary of UNESCO Hong Kong Association cum UN International Human Solidarity Day on 20 December 2021. CFSS joined Town Hall Meeting of Public Engagement on Control of Single-use Plastics organised by Council for Sustainable Development, HKSAR on 22/11

CFSS is one of the only two invited schools for the Town Hall Meeting. 7 Environmental Prefects, led by Deputy Principal Wong Siu Kwong Jacky and Teacher-in-charge of Sustainable Team Tong Man Chung Jacky, joined it. Among the 70 participants of different stakeholders, CFSS participants actively expressed suggestions to policies to cut the single-use plastic in Hong Kong in future. Learning Activity in Ocean Park

To enrich students’ learning experience and to build up the harmonious relationships among students and teachers, S1 to S4 students went to Ocean Park on 22nd July 2021. S1 and S2 students participated in animal programme, S3 students participated in STREAM programme, and S4 students participated in career programme. Through the programmes, students understand how Ocean Park works in preserving the environment, promoting the STREAM, and career prospects. Although it was very hot that day, the event bought beautiful memory to the students and teachers.

Ocean Park Conservation Alliance: Butterfly Citizen Scientist

This project is organized by the Ocean Park Conservation Alliance. It is the first citizen scientist project investigating butterflies by secondary students in Hong Kong. The project aims at arousing public awareness of butterfly biodiversity in Hong Kong by using simple and interesting ecological survey methods, so as to forster students’ interest in exploring the nature and their science citizenship; and to enhance students’ sense of belonging to the community through this project. Conservation Chill Club Carnival Opening Ceremony

Two students from our Green Guru Team participated in the Ixora chinensis Planting Activity and the Conservation Chill Club Opening Ceremony held by Ocean Park on 1st April. One of the I. chinensis in our Butterfly Friendly Garden which had been taken care of by the Green Guru Team for half a year was transplanted into Ocean Park to build the Ocean Park’s butterfly garden together.
