CFSS Grabbing “Outstanding School Award” in “Connecting Students with Nature through STEAM” Programme launched by Ocean Park

Our school had joined the “Connecting Students with Nature through STEAM” programme” launched by Ocean Park. The event offered teachers a unique opportunity to use the Park’s rides, animal exhibits, and conservation resources to inspire in students a boundless imagination and to encourage them to explore the principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) through lively learning experiences. Ocean Park has invited 6 of our students to participate in“STEAM Career Peer Coaching Ambassadors” to facilitate their exposure to and understanding of STEAM-related careers.…

CFSS has received 2017 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence – Schools (Secondary) – Silver Award

Awards

Our School emphasizes the engagement of all our stakeholders in environmental protection programmes. Starting from planting trees on the campus, the School integrates the concepts of sustainable development and biodiversity with the School’s facilities, policy, curriculum and cross-curricular activities. We also carries out scientific research work and cooperates with different organizations to educate the community on environmental issues, so as to enhance students’ environmental awareness through a holistic approach. DSS STEM Fair 2018

Hong Kong Direct Subsidy Scheme Schools Council organized DSS STEM Fair 2018 in St. Paul’s Convent School was held from 22 to 24 September 2018. Our school has been invited to launch our STEM exhibit on science research in the 3-day Fair. Invention projects exhibited in our booth included EggCellent Supercapacitor, 1357 Smart Recycling Bin, Basketball Shooting Robot, etc. Besides, our students also educated the public by distributing the booklets “Golden Rules for Facing Climate Change” to promote Citizen Science and Sustainable Development to the…

Our school was glad to collaborate with Grateful Green Group for organizing Biodiversity Workshops, 4 sessions in total, on the theme “Bird Conservation Express – Talking on Hong Kong’s Birds” in Biodiversity Gallery of the Hong Kong Science Museum in the afternoons of 21 and 25 July 2018. CFSS Honoured in Sustainable Development School Award Programme 2016-2018

CFSS was honoured again in the prize presentation ceremony of the Sustainable Development School Award Programme 2016-2018, held on 7 July 2018. The Programme was launched in Sept 2016, and themed on “sustainable consumption of biological resources”. Addressing the theme of the Programme, we engaged our neighbouring community under the theme of sustainability and hence obtained a “Sustainable Development Community Award”.
