描述
金紅石晶體質脆。通常略帶紅色，也有
略帶黃色，藍色或紫色的晶體。
金紅石具有平行於柱面的兩組不明顯
的解理。主要見於砂礦中，亦見於火成
岩及片麻岩等變質岩中。
主要用於提取鈦和製造白色顏料。
Description
Natural rutile may contain up to 10%
iron and significant amounts of
niobium and tantalum. Rutile derives
its name from the Latin rutilus, red, in
reference to the deep red color
observed in some specimens when
viewed by transmitted light. Rutile
was first described in 1803 by
Abraham Gottlob Werner.
