Since the intrusive vulcanicity, the magma in the mantle in the ground overflow in the depths of the earth’s crust, which gradually cools and solidifies, forming a crystalline rock – granite, the main ingredient is quartz, feldspar and mica.

一種深成酸性火成岩,表面閃閃發光,主要成分是石英、長石和雲母,有互鎖結構。花崗岩質地堅硬致密、強度高、抗風化、耐腐蝕、吸水性低。

A kind of Plutonic acidic intrusive rock. It has the glittery surfaces, composed mainly of crystalline silicate minerals such as quartz (milky), feldspar (pale pink), and mica (black). Minerals are shown to be interlocking and coarse-grained. Granite have a hard and compact texture. With high strength, hard to have weathering and erosion, low water absorption.

粉紅花崗岩一般用於建材，廚房廁所的裝潢。它被亦被廣泛地用作墓石或墓碑。在古埃及，粉紅花崗岩是用來做金字塔的。著名的吉薩金字塔粉紅色便是其中一個例子。

The pink granite is generally used in flooring and countertops in houses. But it is widely used as headstones or gravestones. In ancient Egypt, Pink Granite was used in making the pyramids. The famous Pink Pyramid of Giza is an example of it.

香港的花崗岩主要分佈在港九兩岸及青山和大嶼山北部，為香港最常見的岩石，佔地面三分之一。

Hong Kong granite mainly in the northern part of Hong Kong, Kowloon and the two sides of Castle Peak and Lantau Island, is the most common rock Hong Kong, accounting for one-third of the ground.

“花崗岩”這一詞來源於拉丁語，意思即是結晶岩的粗粒結構。

The word “granite” comes from the Latin granum, a grain, in reference to the coarse-grained structure of such a crystalline rock.
