8 student representatives joined the Green Schools Exchange Tour between 16th Jul and 19th Jul 2015. During the tour, they exchanged ideas of promoting campus environmental conservation with students in Hong Kong and mainland China.
In order to broaden students’ global horizon, our School Supervisor Dr. Annie Wu sponsored 12 students, 2 alumni and 4 teachers to participate in an education tour to Fukuoka in late July. They aimed to study the sustainable development and culture of Japan. In the tour, students learnt waste treatment, efficient production of energy and the preservation of culture in Fukuoka. On 25 June 2015, our school handball team had a friendly match with students from Japanese International Junior Secondary School.
Mr. Esko Aho, Former Prime Minister of Finland, visited our school on 26 May 2015, and had a lunch gathering with our students and teachers. He delivered an inspiring speech to the audience and answered a few questions from students.
To enhance students’ horizon in global outlook and to train them as responsible global citizens, in response to the Millennium Declaration, School Supervisor Dr. Annie S.C. Wu sponsored a tour to Finland. School Management Committee Chairperson Professor Young, Founding Principal Mr. Chow, Principal Mr. Au, together with 6 teachers and 10 students, boarded the plane at midnight and set off to Finland. We have installed Cisco HD Video Conferencing System in the Classroom of the Future (China) to start the pilot programme “Virtual Exchange” with Australian schools. The University Of New England, Australia is the main hub to liaise the connections. We have been using this system since 2013 to establish real-time, and high quality VC channel with different renowned schools in Australia, such as Pymble Ladies College in Sydney, and St. Andrew’s Anglican College in Brisbane. Our School was invited to participate in the Worlddidac Asia 2015 from 18th to 20th March 2015 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. About six thousand visitors, including government representatives, education professionals and innovative developers uncovered the special showcases, participated in workshops, networked with peers and explored the innovative exhibits.
