Professor Lin Hui, who has expertise in Virtual Geographic Environments, visited our School and gave a talk to S.4 Geography students on 16th February, 2023. He shared with our students vividly on the interesting stories and advanced application of maps, and the prospects of Geography as a career.
On 15th December, 2022, Mr. Thorir Ibsen, Ambassador of Iceland to the People’s Republic of China visited our school and conducted sharing session with students who have been Iceland for an exchange tour in 2018. Mr. Ibsen and our students conducted interactive conversation on their experience on Iceland. Students were impressed by Ambassador’s sharing on the history of skyr, a famous Icelandic dessert.
The UNESCO Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Institution of Education for Sustainable Development have jointly launched an event entitled “National Education Exhibition in Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the HKSAR cum Space Exposed Seeds Planting Ceremony”. Mr. Miguel Lee Chang was one of the advisors in our School International Mentorship Programme. Mr. Chang used his first-hand experience in farming industry in Panama to share with our S.2 students on 13th June 2022 (Mon) on the challenges of farmers and the problems of food shortage. Students were inspired by his message on ‘no food waste’ in the talk.
Solar Harvest Solar Energy Support Scheme is a Government program providing subsidy and one-stop service to help eligible schools install small-scale solar PV systems at their premises. CFSS has successfully joined the Solar Harvest Scheme since last year. The photos below illustrate the solar panels and components of the “FiT” Scheme System at our rooftop. A group of students worked on their NASA Car Models in Art Room, incorporating the concept of aerospace science, sustainable development into their artwork in consideration of the geology on the planet surface. The artwork was then displayed in the School Hall for demonstration in the Aerospace Science and STREAM Exhibition of our school in Oct 2021.

With the joint effort from Sino United Publishing (Holdings) Limited, our school held “The Belt & Road Initiative and China’s Border Cities” Gallery in School Hall which lasted for two months from May to July 2021. The gallery displayed nearly a hundred precious photos with fascinating natural scenery, customs and culture taken in the Belt and Road economic zone and the twelve Chinese border cities. Mayor Sam Leijonanmieli is the Mayor of Vimpeli, a municipality of Finland. Mayor Sam paid a warm visit to CFSS campus in the morning of 24th February 2020, understanding more on how our school fosters student-centred learning and sharing teaching experiences with our staff. Mayor Sam visited our Geology and Climate Change Resource Centre. We also discussed the possible future collaborations with tertiary institutes and high schools in Finland to widen horizons of both teachers and students on Sustainable Development Education.
Professor Liang Digang, an expert in oil exploration and geology, had delivered a talk to all S.1 and S.2 students in School Hall on 20 February 2019 (Wed).
