The Geology and Climate Change Resource Centre (GCCRC) is to provide a cross-disciplinary learning center for our students. Through various exhibits, collections and activities, the Centre will provide students with opportunities to explore the nature and the evolution of the Earth, the various meteorological factors as well as the hot issue of global climate change. - To enhance students’ knowledge of Earth Sciences and Weather and Climate - To nurture students’ sense of global citizenship in tackling global climate change - To synthesize abstract concepts from different subjects such as Geography, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, etc. so that students are able to think from multiple perspectives - To inspire an appreciation of the dynamic natural world as well as to arouse students’ interests towards the variety of geological resources in Earth Sciences

Sharing by Mr. Thorir Ibsen, Ambassador of Iceland to the People’s Republic of China

On 15th December, 2022, Mr. Thorir Ibsen, Ambassador of Iceland to the People’s Republic of China visited our school and conducted sharing session with students who have been Iceland for an exchange tour in 2018. Mr. Ibsen and our students conducted interactive conversation on their experience on Iceland. Students were impressed by Ambassador’s sharing on the history of skyr, a famous Icelandic dessert.

Solar Harvest Scheme in CFSS

Solar Harvest Solar Energy Support Scheme is a Government program providing subsidy and one-stop service to help eligible schools install small-scale solar PV systems at their premises. CFSS has successfully joined the Solar Harvest Scheme since last year. The photos below illustrate the solar panels and components of the “FiT” Scheme System at our rooftop. Planning Department’s Outreach Programme 2020-2021

With the joint effort from Sino United Publishing (Holdings) Limited, our school held “The Belt & Road Initiative and China’s Border Cities” Gallery in School Hall which lasted for two months from May to July 2021. Warm Visit of Mayor of Vimpeli to CFSS

Mayor Sam Leijonanmieli is the Mayor of Vimpeli, a municipality of Finland. Mayor Sam paid a warm visit to CFSS campus in the morning of 24th February 2020, understanding more on how our school fosters student-centred learning and sharing teaching experiences with our staff. Mayor Sam visited our Geology and Climate Change Resource Centre. We also discussed the possible future collaborations with tertiary institutes and high schools in Finland to widen horizons of both teachers and students on Sustainable Development Education.
