Switzerland Glacier Education Tour

To enhance students’ understanding of global warming, we were privileged to have Mr. Cheung Wai Yin, a polar exploration expert, lead an expedition to the glaciers of Switzerland. The trip began at the Institute of Earth Surface Dynamics at the University of Lausanne, where students engaged in glacier research. Sharing Session by polar researcher Mr. Cheung Wing Yin

Mr. Cheung Wai Yin is the world’s first Chinese-born Polar Expedition Guide. We were honored to have him come to CFSS to share his polar career and research with our S.5 students. The students were very interested in his glacier research and marveled at the polar scenery. He also promoted environmental awareness to the students and presented them with postcards of polar landscapes created by him as an encouragement.

Iceland Education Tour

An Icelandic girl visited our School in March. We are most grateful that our founding School Supervisor, Dr. Annie S.C. Wu fully sponsored an education tour to Iceland for 3 students and 2 teachers. Students had an opportunity to appreciate the history and culture, use of geothermal energy, economic & technology development of Iceland, as well as to engage with local Icelandic students. It is hoped that through these overseas educational programmes, the school will nurture young people who possess a worldwide and multicultural perspective.

Sharing by Mr. Thorir Ibsen, Ambassador of Iceland to the People’s Republic of China

On 15th December, 2022, Mr. Thorir Ibsen, Ambassador of Iceland to the People’s Republic of China visited our school and conducted sharing session with students who have been Iceland for an exchange tour in 2018. Mr. Ibsen and our students conducted interactive conversation on their experience on Iceland. Students were impressed by Ambassador’s sharing on the history of skyr, a famous Icelandic dessert.

Solar Harvest Scheme in CFSS

Solar Harvest Solar Energy Support Scheme is a Government program providing subsidy and one-stop service to help eligible schools install small-scale solar PV systems at their premises.
