Switzerland Glacier Education Tour

To enhance students’ understanding of global warming, we were privileged to have Mr. Cheung Wai Yin, a polar exploration expert, lead an expedition to the glaciers of Switzerland. The trip began at the Institute of Earth Surface Dynamics at the University of Lausanne, where students engaged in glacier research. They then explored the Aletsch Glacier area and Saas Fee, participating in glacier studies and outdoor lectures. Rock Cuisine Workshops

What are rock strata, sedimentation and sedimentary rock? Junior students may find these concepts difficult. A series of rock cuisine workshop was organized during the post-exam period in July 2016. Through making a unique-styled Macau Pudding, students learnt the processes of sedimentary rock formation such as erosion, deposition and lithification. Participants were impressed by the workshop.

Learning Lithostratigraphy in Geology & Climate Change Resource Centre

The Geography Club organized a workshop named “Rock Cuisine” on 3 December 2014 in GCCRC to introduce these concepts to club members. Through making a unique-styled Macau Pudding, students learnt the processes of sedimentary rock formation such as erosion, deposition and lithification. Participants were impressed by the workshop.
