It dates from the Late Cretaceous, 73 million years ago. Saltosaurus was a highly evolved species of sauropod, a small-armor plated titanosaur and was relatively small by Sauropod standards. It grew to around 12 metres long. It was characterised by a diplodocid head, with blunt teeth at the back of the mouth. The eggs were normally 11cms to 12cms in diameter and were first discovered in 1997. The eggs were laid in holes dug by the females. Size: 15cm x 10cm Weight: 0.2kg |
