The shell of the ammonite is curled along the plane and has a disk shape. It is symmetrical on both sides and has a smooth or fine growth line on the surface of the shell. Ammonoids are an extinct group of marine mollusc animal in the subclass ammonoidea of the class Cephalopods. Their fossil shells usually take the form of planispirals, although there were some helically spiraled and nonspiraled forms. |
