Formation:(Rock) (Mineral)

Sandstone composed mainly of sand-sized mineral particles or rock fragments which are produced by weathering and erosion. The sediment is deposited in desert dunes. Accumulated sediment is compacted by the weight of overlying layers. Minerals dissolved in water cement the loss sediment together. Finally, loose sediment is transformed to solid rock called desert sandstone by lithification.
