Ma Wan Tree Blossom Event

The activity, Tree Blossom Guided Tour, was organized by Ma Wan Park. On that day, Mr Sammy Au, Station Manager of ISA HK/China and the first Registered Consulting Arborist in Asia, who is a professional arborist, shared his precious experiences about trees. Also, he led our students to explore more in knowledge on trees via an apps on iPhone or iPad in Ma Wan Park.

HK SciFest2017 – Fun Science Carnival

Our school co-organized with Hong Kong Science Museum during HK SciFest 2017 – Fun Science Carnival on 18 and 19 Feb 2017. The theme of our stall is “Correct Planting, Mosquito No Way!”. Our school advocated suitable growth of plants to the public to combat against mosquito breeding and related infections of Dengue Fever and Zika in the stall. Voluntary Child Service: Finding an Urban Oasis

Led by Social Service Group and Green Guru Team, our school co-organized a voluntary child service project called “Finding an Urban Oasis” with the Chinese YMCA (Chai Wan Center) on 20 July 2015 (Mon) to have green adventures with 50 children on campus. Our school’s green leaders wanted to spread the message of sustainable development and care for the children by letting them understand the importance of plant biodiversity and environmental conservation, installing the concepts of sustainability and care for others into voluntary service.

Environmental Conservation Carnival 2013

The idea of sustainable development proliferated in our neighbourhood Siu Sai Wan community with the support of the Council of Sustainable Development. On 7 July 2013, after diverse performances of dancers, choirs and orchestras, ten booths were set up to transmit different ideas and concepts related to sustainable development.  Involving over 100 students and 40 teachers, the Carnival came with an enthusiastic participation of over 200 visitors and a memorable end.

CFSS was invited to participate in the LOHAS EXPO 2013 in the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre

Our school was invited to participate in the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) EXPO 2013 in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 3G from 1st to 3rd February 2013. The exhibition aimed in promoting green and healthy living style, and the theme of our booth “Green Household” (located at A13) echoes with this. Molecular Biotechnology Workshop 2017

In order to broaden students’ horizon on global development of molecular biotechnology in the recent years, more than 30 teachers and students have participated in a Molecular Biotechnology Workshop this Easter holidays. Students first attended a half-day pre-trip workshop in school, followed by a full-day trip to Beijing Genomic Institute and China National Genebank in Shenzhen the next day. Space-Exposed Seed Nursery Project

On the basis of one-year experience on space-seed nursery, Beijing Dong Cheng District Municipal Education Commission collaborates with the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development to launch “Education for Sustainable Development and Biodiversity: Space-Exposed Seed Nursery Programme”. Art and Science of Trees, Birds and Butterflies Exhibition at JCCAC

Our School held an exhibition at Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) from 12th to 14th April 2013. There were four themes in the exhibition. The most attractive one was Birds. Our students spent a lot of time to create art work to show different characters of birds.  Besides, we promoted green living and introduced cross-curricular Activity Day at Tsung Tsai Yuen. We hope that visitors could be more aware of the natural ecology and the importune of environmental protect through our exhibits.
