CFSS students participating in iNaturalist Species Surveying 2024

The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is a large-scale citizen science event that support species surveying around the world. This encourages the students and citizens from different participating cities to use the free iNaturalist app to record observations of local wildlife. CFSS Students Sharing the School-based Approaches in Biodiversity Education and Conservation Strategies in the Youth Biodiversity Forum

On 10th December 2022, 13 students took part in the online Youth Biodiversity Forum organized by The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation. Green Guru Fish Printing Workshop

To promote awareness on biodiversity and to incorporate art and culture, the Green Guru Team had held the Fish Printing (Gyotaku) Workshop on 10th October 2022. 20 students had learnt the history and cultural value of the traditional art of Gyotaku. In order to raise awareness of biodiversity and species conservation, Green Gurus has organized a Honey Bee Conservation Signature Campaign. Honey bee has a paramount role in the ecosystem. Almost 75% of crops are pollinated by bees and other insects, making agriculture and food production possible. However, urbanization and pesticides are threatening their survival. Ocean Park Conservation Alliance: Butterfly Citizen Scientist

This project is organized by the Ocean Park Conservation Alliance. It is the first citizen scientist project investigating butterflies by secondary students in Hong Kong.
