Amazon on fire – Signature Campaign to conserve Amazon forests

Green Gurus of our school launched the “Amazon on fire” Signature Campaign on 27 Sept 2019 (Fri) on campus. Some scholars have pointed out that the Amazon rain forest, known as the “Lungs of the Earth”, handles 5% to 20% of the world’s photosynthesis every year. Our school was glad to collaborate with Grateful Green Group for organizing Biodiversity Workshops, 2 sessions in total, on the theme “Bird Conservation Express – Talking on Hong Kong’s Birds” in Biodiversity Gallery of the Hong Kong Science Museum in the afternoon of 13 Oct 2018. Hong Kong Direct Subsidy Scheme Schools Council organized DSS STEM Fair 2018 in St. Paul’s Convent School was held from 22 to 24 September 2018. Our school has been invited to launch our STEM exhibit on science research in the 3-day Fair. Professor Hiromi Kobori and her PhD student, Ms. Emu Miyashita, from Faculty of Environmental Studies of Tokyo City University paid a warm visit to our school on 14 September 2018. Professor Kobori is a world-renowned expert on environmental toxicology while Ms. Emu Miyashita is the Ambassador (Japan) of the CitizenScience.Asia Alliance.
